EE Bun Bun

Here is the newest addition to my spring collection. I just love this little guy. There are 3 more similar to him that should be finished sometime next week.
My internet guy just came over and fixed my service, Yipee. They gave me a new modem and told me the other probably got fried in the power surges we had a few weeks ago. I have had problems getting on line for weeks and got the telephone run- around every time. Today, my pics loaded quickly and that has made me one happy gal. Gotta run and get some lunch on. Hope ya all have a grand weekend.

I just really love all those glitter eggs in EE's basket!

Lace and more lace...Oh my

Here it is almost a month again since my last post. The weeks have been busy with sick kids, a night stay in the hospital with my oldest daughter, deadlines, a painting job, and still trying to finish pieces for the show in less than 6 weeks. I did manage to squeeze in some me time this month and found the ultimate junk store. I purchased all the vintage lace in the 2 pictures below for under 10$. I'm totally excited to use some of this in a few pieces of altered art, I might even be using some of the colored lace in hair accessories. I have been selling some of my hair accessories at a local clothing boutique and it has been awesome working with the girls at Wynk. So far, I have had great feedback from the store and a few customers.
My head has been a jumbled mess as of lately...lots of ideas and little time to sit down and get them into action. I have the sudden jewelery bug biting at me and would love to even put some of this vintage trim to use on a necklace or cuff bracelet. I hope to have some pieces done real soon and to share them here on my blog.
It's getting late and I still need to finish up a few clay pieces and get my littlest one tucked into bed. Talk to ya all real soon!

Some Springy Works In Progress

My kids are all home from school today, with strep. I had to make two trips to town yesterday to see the doctor and get antibiotics. There is always something going on lately and it has left me with little studio time. I am taking off for the weekend with my mom and heading to Denver to spend some time with my little brother and his wife.
Today, I woke up with some spring time inspiration and started projects for the spring show. I should be packing and baking a birthday cake (for my bro) and cleaning the house, but for right now I am just sitting back and letting all this inspiration flow from my hands. I am feeling relaxed and enjoying my day. In a few hours I will not be so relaxed. I will probably be running around like a crazy lady, but for right now I will just play and have fun.
Well, guess I better get back to work.

Love Letters

I've been rummaging through boxes in the basement today, in a desperate attempt to get things organized around here. It started last week when I was cleaning and organizing the studio and realized I still had boxes in the basement full of things I packed up from the studio last summer. I want to get everything put away and labeled, so I can find things when I need them. Now, back to today, I came across a box full of finished projects I had packed up and found my first altered book. In celebration of Valentines, the holiday of love, I am sharing with you pictures of my altered book which is full of special Love Letters from my family and friends.

Blog addict

I have nothing creative to share with you this week. I have lost my creative jive and spent most of the week drooling over beautiful blogs. It starts with a few little links and then I am sucked in and realize hours have passed and children have been neglected and I think of all the things I should be doing, but I can't stop myself. I am openly admitting I am a blog reading addict. I am amazed at the talented people and their enthusiasm for life and creativity and start to feel, well, lets just say, a little overwhelmed and inadequate ( I hope I am not the only one out there that feels this way).

Seriously, I have been upholstering furniture and painting my studio and hope to reveal some of my work next week. I am really happy about how my living room chairs are turning out. I started these chairs last summer and never had time to finish them and thought it was the perfect project for this week. I mean, why not, I am just sitting in the house dreaming of warmer days and less snow on the ground anyways. I am finally having a vision of what I want my living room to look like. The new carpet should be installed this spring after we have the roof done. With the excitement of new carpet, and finally finding one I love, I decided I need to paint also. I have had these pistachio green walls for 6 years. I loved the color when I first painted it, but my style is maturing and my kids are finally getting older and I am dreaming of that all white living room and pistachio green is just not working with that vision. This weekend I will be in search of some paint samples and hope to find just the right color that resembles, maybe linen. Not really sure what color yet, but I will know it when I see it.
I'll leave you with a pic of some good finds from last week. I just can't stay away from Goodwill and the downtown junk shops. I scored with the complete vintage Bingo game for only 25cents and a couple rolls of vintage wallpaper for 50cents. I also love this Strawberry shortcake pattern. Maybe, a dress for Christyn is in the near future. The rest is just crafting items and, oh how I love me some crafting goodness for cheap.

Snow Day

This is a view of what lies outside, about 1 ft. of snow. The kids and I were totally pumped last night when we got a call from the school voice mail, telling us there would be no school on Monday. We haven't ventured out in the white stuff just yet, but we plan on sledding sometime after lunch. Right now, we are playing dress up, watching movies, reading books, and enjoying the day together. I plan on getting some more cleaning done in my studio and possibly getting some creating done today. I have all these new ideas circling around in my head, but haven't had a chance to get my hands on the clay lately. It has been difficult trying to get back to a routine after winter break and the awful illness that invaded us last week. Today, I am just enjoying the kids and loving a little extended downtime.

I am just looking forward to curling up with the new magazines I picked up on Friday and devouring the lovely work inside. If your in need of a little creative jump-start these always do the trick for me.

Visions of girlie things dancing about in my head

Christmas break is officially over today. The kids are back in school and I am starting on some pieces for the Spring show.
I have great news, I am going to be an Aunt to a baby girl and I am so excited about being able to put together some precious little pink things for her. The baby is due in May and I already promised mom some hair accessories. I would also like to make a baby album, so all the proud parents will have to do is slip in the photos. Lots to do and little time.
So, it's back to work I go.

Here is another scrapbook page I finished this week. There is lots of white space on this page. I was challenging myself with a new style. This page looks so bare and easy to do, but it is one of the hardest pages I ever put together. I just couldn't stop myself from adding extra embellishments.
